A module is a logical unit defining the interaction of different VASERControl elements (e.g. EIB components, serve@Home appliances, etc.). It may optionally define a graphical user interface (e.g. GUI to be shown on a PDA).
To manually activate a module it must be opened on the screen – either in a separate window or the VASERControl Designer.
Any module which does not contain a graphical user interface may be promoted as an Autostart module. This means that a copy of the module is run on the VASERControl Server instead of an individual, local computer. When the VASERControl Server is started all Autostart modules are automatically started.
The menu option New Module… offers the ability to create new modules.
After selecting this menu option a prompter opens requesting the name of the new module.
After entering the name and selecting the OK button the VASERControl Designer is opened on the screen.
Opening the context menu from an existing module will open a pop-up menu to create new module or edit existing ones.
Please note that only modules which contain a GUI component may be opened in a separate window but they may not be used as Autostart modules. The corresponding menu choice will be enabled/disabled accordingly.
