Editor Menu

VASERControl Editor provides the standard menu entries File, Options, Windows, and Help.

File Menu

The File menu contains options related to the creation, connection and saving of a configuration regarding a connection with the VASERControl Server.

The option Open Remote… will connect to the server using default settings for the server address and server port. These settings may be changed using the choice Set Server Address from the Options menu. The settings are stored in an xml file hasEditor.xml. |

- <Configuration>

<ServerAddress>192.168.3.170</ServerAddress>
<ServerPort>5912</ServerPort>
</Configuration>

To exit the VASERControl Editor the menu option Exit is provided. A prompter will be opened to verify this option. When the VASERControl Editor is exited all open child windows will automatically be closed.

Options Menu

The Options menu contains functions having to do with server related settings and states. Different variable values which are often needed are stored in a cache (e.g. server address, port addresses, etc.). A cache is a fast temporary storage to avoid having to reload frequently.

The menu option Initialize Caches is used to reset the values of any cached variable.

The menu choice Inspect is reserved for internal debugging purposes. It has no functionality in the “normal” product version.

The menu option Set Server Address…may be used to connect to a different VASERControl Server.

The Remote Connection window provides entry fields to define the server address as well as the port address. Select the Ok button to store the defined data and close the window. Please note that the connection to the server is not automatically established. You may connect to the VASERControl server by opening the File menu and select the menu option Open Remote….

Windows Menu

The Windows menu contains options to work with child windows.

The menu option Close all conveniently allows you to close all open child window saving you the time to close each window individually.

The list below the Close all menu options shows the child windows which are currently open. Selecting one of the entries will set the focus to this window

Help Menu

The Help menu offers product specific help.

The menu option Information opens the VASERControl Information window on the screen. This window also contains a package number and date. These values are important. If you ever experience any problem with the software we will ask you to provide us with the package number and package date.

Editor Toolbar

The VASERControl Editor Toolbar offers easy access to useful program functionality. Each of the mini-icons of the toolbar corresponds to the choice of a menu option.

The mini-icons provide hover-help. Hover-help is a form of context-sensitive help which displays a small pop-up window when the mouse is moved above a mini-icon. The hover help text lists the name the corresponding menu choice (e.g. New, Open, RemoteConnect, Connect and Disconnect).
